How the downtime cost is calculated
We calculate your average revenue per hour based on your traffic and conversion data, then multiply it by the length of the downtime.
- Daily visitors ÷ 24 = visitors per hour
- Visitors × conversion rate = conversions per hour
- Conversions × order value = revenue per hour
- Revenue per hour × downtime = total loss
Example
A site with 2,400 daily visitors, a 2% conversion rate, and a $75 average order value loses about $150 per hour. A 3-hour outage results in $450 lost revenue.
